Students learn breaking news, data and more at day one of 2015 #lobocamp

Students and panelists alike had a blast during our first day of #lobocamp this year. Our keynote speaker, Sam Donaldson, told stories of his time in journalism and offered tips to students on starting their careers. Read what everyone said about the panelists and presentations on social media.

#Lobocamp kicks off today!

Join our online panel today at 1 p.m. Mountain time and learn about working for, finding and funding non-traditional news outlets.

You can watch the live stream here or sign in to a Google account to ask questions here, which we hope you do!

Look forward to seeing everyone this weekend at all of our panels.

Bootcamp registration is over

Thanks to everyone who registered. We are done accepting registrations and look forward to seeing you this weekend. Please join our live panel Friday at 1 for tips on working for yourself in journalism. You can watch the event live here or join here with a Google account to ask questions during the panel. Bring a notebook for notes and a smart phone or laptop for tweeting during the weekend. Our event hashtag is #lobocamp.

We will have bagels for breakfast and pizza for lunch, (if you signed up) but you may want to bring additional snacks to have on hand for our two busy days ahead.
